A Result of His Sowing

During the Civil War, a man on horseback suddenly found himself confronted with a soldier on sentry guard. The soldier pointed his gun at the other man's breast and said, "Halt! Who goes there?" "A friend,"he replied. "Approach, friend, and give the password." "Lincoln," confidently said the man on horseback. There was a dead silence, for it was the wrong password! At length the soldier said slowly and solemnly, "It is the wrong password. If I did not know who you were, your life would pay the penalty of the mistake. At the risk of my own life, I spare yours. Go back and get the right word."

The man on horseback thanked the soldier warmly and rode away, returning with the right password, "Massachusetts." "Pass on, all's well," Was the immediate reply from the sentry. "I cannot pass," said the rider, "till I have given you a message. At the risk of your life, you spared mine. Have you the right password for heaven? "Yes, sir, I have." "What is it?" "'Jesus Christ', sir." "Where did you learn that?" "In your Sunday School long ago in Pennsylvania, sir."

God has said, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

Give Thanks

Good Morning Unity and Community;
Don't you just love a frosty morning, when you look out the window and it looks like a dusting of snow has fallen on the ground. Personally, I love these type of morning. Makes me thankful for cool weather verses hot weather. Paul reminded us that "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." Paul also said, "Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;" Can you give God thanks for the bad times, as well as the good times. It is the season for giving thanks. What are you most thankful for. I would like for those who read this list below three things you are thankful for. The first three that comes to your mine. Le't see how many things we are thankful for! How about coming to the Lord's house today and show a gratitude of thanks for all that you have. I pray you all have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Give us a watchword for the hour
A thrilling word, a word of power:
A battle-cry, a flaming breath,
That calls to conquest or to death;
A word to rouse the church from rest,
To heed the Master's high behest,
The call is given: Ye host arise,
Our watchword is Evangelize!

The glad evangel now proclaim
Through all the earth in Jesus name;
This word is ringing through the skies,
Evangelize!  Evangelize!
To dying men, a fallen race,
Make known the gift of gospel grace;
The world that now in darkness lies,
Evangelize!  Evangelize!

A Soul Winning Church

Good Morning Unity and Community;
What a nice brisk morning the Lord has provided for us today. What a great opportunity we have today to worship the Creator of all things. We still have a free country where we can worship. What if that freedom did not exist? What if we had to worship in secret?
Sometimes it may seem like we are in that position. "How do you figure that preacher?", some may be asking. Well when it comes to sharing Jesus with other, we are pretty silent. Even as if we hide ourselves from it.
Today we will begin a series entitled, "A Soul Winning Church."
Churches are dying today because no one wants or has a desire to share Jesus Christ with a dying world. Come today a Unity and begin this series with us. It will only be three weeks long. Make a commitment to be in every service and experience what it takes to be "A Soul Winning Church." Services start at 10:45. Hope and pray to see you there.

November 6, 2016

Good Morning Unity and Community:
What a brisk cool morning the Lord has provided for us to worship in. This morning is tee-shirt Sunday. Come wearing your Unity tee-shirts. Would love to see some of the others that were made before I came. Also at 9:00 is coffee and donuts.
Ever feel like all hope is gone? Feel like there's no need to try anymore? Well, let me tell you there is hope and that hope is in Jesus Christ. Because of God's Grace, we have that hope. It really doesn't matter who wins the election this week, because God is in control of it all. No one sit in positions like that unless God allows it. Always remember, God will make a way through it all. Come this morning as we close chapter 5 and the book of I Peter and look a the "Grace of Hope." Services begin at 9:45 for Sunday School and 10:45 for Worship. Then come back tonight at 6:00 P.M. as our choir and friends sing a cantata entitled "God Will Make A Way." Our nation is in desperate times and we as Christians need to take a stand. There will be no political forms of any kind. Following the cantata, we will have a time of prayer to pray for our election and our nation. Please come and I promise your heart will be blessed.
This Thursday Night at 7:00 P.M., Unity will have the Garms family from Minnesota here in concert. They are a family of eight (8) who play southern and bluegrass gospel. They play about fifteen (15) different instruments. Come and have your hearts blessed by song. There is no cost. A love offering will be taken.
