A Nice Cool Morning

Good Morning Unity and Community:
What a nice cool morning the Lord has provided for us to come to Worship Him today. I know this is a holiday weekend. I know there are things going on in people's lives. I know some will go on as today is as a normal day. I also know that had Christ had the same attitude, where would we be today? What if when He went to Jerusalem for the Passover He just celebrated it and never became the sacrificial Lamb? He loved us enough not to take a day off from serving His Father. How much love do we really have for Him? How will we express our love to Him today? We say we have Christian Love, but showing is more important than saying it.
Come to Unity today and look at what the Bible says about Christian Love. Services at 9:45 for Sunday School and 10:45 for Worship. Would love to see you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slow to suspect -- quick to trust,

Slow to condemn -- quick to jsutify,

Slow to offend -- quick to defend,

Slow to expose -- quick to shield,

Slow to reprimand -- quick to forbear,

Slow to belittle -- quick to appreciate,

Slow to demand -- quick to give,

Slow to provoke -- quick to conciliate,

Slow to hinder -- quick to help,

Slow to resent -- quick to forgive.

The Husband's Role

Good Morning Unity and Community;

Those of you who have been noticing my post this week, realize that today once again I will be speaking about marriage. Today we look at the husband's role. There are so many 'so-called" experts in the world today with so many books on marriage, yet the divorce rate is as much as the marriage rate. Hollywood's version is "well if it doesn't work, divorce and find another one."

The greatest problem in our marriages today is that there is no stability in the home. No one is the leader, no one is spiritually minded. There is no communication among the husband and wife. Both are so busy that they don't take time for there children and then when there children get into trouble or fall with the wrong crowd, they ask the question, "Where did I go wrong?"

What our homes need today are God fearing, God honoring, God serving parents who are concerned about there children eternity. Parents who live there lives in front of there children so that they don't have to tell them what to do, their children know what to do.

Husbands and wives need to know their role in the home. The husband is to be the spiritual leader. He is to provide for the family both physically and spiritually. He doesn't need to ask the wife and kids, "Do y'all what to go to church today?" Neither should he ask the children, "Where do you want to go today?" He should say, "It's time for church and here is where we are going.

We need men with a backbone. Men who will lead. Men who fear God and do the role designed by God. It is a shame when the wife has to be the spiritual leader of the home. Lord help our husband's today to wake up and realize their role.

If you have hard work to do,
Do it now.

Today the skies are clear and blue,
Tomorrow the clouds may come in view.
Yesterday is not for you,
Do it now.

If you have a song to sing,
Sing it now.
Let the notes of gladness ring,
Clear as song of birds in spring,
Let each day some music bring,
Sing it now.

If you have kind words to say,
Say them now.
Tomorrow may not come our way,
To do a kindness while you may,
Loved ones will not always stay,
Say them now.

If you have a smile to show,
Show it now.
Make hearts happy, roses grow,
Let the friends around you know,
The love you have before they go,
Show it now.

Don’t Quit:

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,

When funds are low and debts are high,
And you want to smile but have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t quit.

Life is weird with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learn,

And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you can never tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar,
So stick to the flight when you’re hardest hit
It’s when things seem worse that you mustn’t quit.
