Keep On Praying

"Though the foe of right oppress,
    Keep on praying;
God is ever near to bless,
    Keep on praying;
Let not fear your heart appall,
Naught of evil can befall,
Stronger is your God than all,
    Keep on praying.

"Pilgrim, have you weary grown?
    Keep on praying;
God is still on the throne,
    Keep on praying;
He will hear your faithful cry,
He to help is ever nigh,
You shall conquer by and by,
    Keep on praying.

"Christian, has your faith grown weak?
    Keep on praying;
Do the tears roll down your cheeks?
    Keep on praying;
Soon you nevermore will sigh,
Tears no more shall dim your eye,
Pray to Him who's ever high,
    Keep on praying."

One Talent

I have no voice for singing
    I cannot make a speech,
I have no gift for music,
    I know I cannot teach.
I am no good at leading,
    I cannot "organize,"
And anything I write
    Would never win a prize.
But at roll call in meetings
    I always answer, "Here."
When others are performing
    I lend a listening ear.
After the program's over,
    I praise its every part.
My words are not to flatter,
    I mean them from the heart.
It seems my only talent
    Is neither big nor rare,
Just to listen and encourage
    And to fill a vacant chair.
But all the gifted people
   Could not so brightly shine,
Were it not for those who use
    A talent such as mine!

What Then?

What Then?
After the joys of earth,
After its song of mirth,
After its hours of light,
After its dreams so bright,
          What then?

Only an empty name,
Only a weary frame,
Only a conscience smart,
Only an aching heart,
After this empty name,
After this weary frame,
After this conscience smart,
After this aching heart,
           What then?

Only a farewell,
To a world loved too well,
Only a silent bed,
With the forgotten dead,
          What then?

Oh, then -- the judgment throne,
Then all the woes that dwell,

Oh then -- the last hope -- gone!
In an eternal Hell!

The Whosoever That Dies Without Christ

Good Morning Unity and Community;
What happens to a person who dies without Jesus Christ as Savior? A lot of skepticism today about this question. Some believe that when you die, "that's it." Some believe that you stand before the "white pearly gates" and see if your good enough to get into heaven. Some believe that you go to a holding place where someone "can pray you into heaven" if you give them enough money. But what does the Bible really say about this matter? That will be our message today. "The Whosoever That Dies Without Christ." Come, be with us today and find out what happens when you die. Sunday School begins at 9:45, and Worship at 10:45. Looking forward to seeing you there!!!!!!

The Lords Answer

   A man once said to a servant of the Lord: "I am such a helpless, miserable sinner, there is no hope for me. I have prayed, and resolved and tried, and vowed until I am sick of my unvieling efforts."
   "Do you believe that Christ died for your sins, and rose again?" was the reply.
   "Of course I do."
   "If He were here on earth in bodily and visible form, what would you do?"
   "I would go to Him at once."
   "What would you say to Him?"
   "I would tell Him that I was a lost sinner."
   "What would you ask Him?"
   " I would ask Him to forgive and save me."
   "What would He answer?"
   The man was silent.
   "What would He answer?"
   At last the light came into his eyes, and a smile of peace stole over his face and he whispered, "He would answer, 'I will.'" and the man went away believing, rejoicing "with joy unspeakable and full of glory." Since then he has been working faithfully for the Christ who saved him for nothing.
