Temper

When I have lost my temper
I have lost my reason too.
I'm never proud of anything
Which angrily I do.
When I have talked in anger
And my cheeks were flaming red
I have always uttered something
Which I wish I had not said,
In anger I have never
Done a kindly deed or wise
But many things for which I felt
I should appologize.
In looking back across my life,
And all I'v lost, or made,
I can't recall a single time
When fury ever paid.
So I struggle to be patient,
For I've reached a wiser age;
I do not want to do a thing
Or speak a word in rage.
I have learned by sad experience
That when my temper flies
I never do a worthy deed,
A decent deed or wise.

A Life With A Proper Attitude

Good Morning Unity and Community;
Ever have a bad attitude about life, church, and people? Ever wonder, what is the proper attitude to have? There are a lot of books written on this subject. Every author has his's or her's view point about attitude and life. I have found out that my attitude about life is what I make it to be. I came to this conclusion by looking at the attitude of Jesus. This will be our subject for the day, "A Life With A Proper Attitude." Remember this, "Outlook determines Outcome and Attitude determines Action." Whatever out outlook is on life will determine our outcome of life. If we face life with a defeated outlook then our outcome will be defeated. Whatever our attitude is will determine the action we take. If our attitude says, "I don't care," then we are defeated by our attitude because that has determined what action we take..
Jesus shows us in Philippians 2:1-11 what attitude to have. Come join us this morning as we study, search, and find this proper attitude. Our services begin at 9:45 for Sunday School and 10:45 for Worship.

This Lord's Day

Good Morning Unity and Friends;
"This is the day that the Lord hath made..." It is the Lord's day. Well, I guess you could say every day is the Lord's day, for He made them all. But this day is a special day when we as God's Children ans as Believers in Christ have the honor and privilege to come to His house and sing praises and Worship Him. Today Bro Josh Freeman (our youth pastor) will be our morning speaker, followed by a potluck lunch to celebrate the birthday and anniversaries for the month of January. Following lunch Bro. Dalton Frost will be bringing our afternoon message.
Come and join us this Lord's Day at Unity MBC. Our services begin at 9:45 for Sunday School and 10:45 for Praise and Worship. Would love to see you there.

Occupied FOR or WITH Jesus?

Martha in the kitchen, serving with her hands;
Occupied for Jesus, with her pots and pans,
Loving Him, yet fevered, burdened to the brim,
Careful, troubled Martha, occupied for Him.

Mary on the footstool, eyes on her Lord;
Occupied with Jesus, drinking in His Word,
This the one thing needful, all else strangely dim:
Loving, resting Mary, occupied with Him.

So may we, like Mary, choose the better part.
Resting in His presence--hands and feet and heart;
Drinking in His wisdom, strengthened with His grace;
Waiting for the summons, eyes upon His face.

When it comes, we're ready, spirit, will, and nerve;
Mary's heart to worship, Martha's hands to serve;
This the rightful order, as our lamps we trim,
Occupied with Jesus, then occupied for Him!

What Are You Living For?

Good Morning Unity and Community;
"What Are You Living For?" This is a very deep thought when we really stop and consider the question. Everybody should be living for some reason. Now ask yourself this question, "Who Am I Living For?" Paul reminds us in Philippians 1:21 that, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Living this life should be a life living for Christ. Most people are living for material gain. Jesus said in Matthew 6:19-21, "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Did you get that last verse? You can tell a lot of times if someone is living for Christ by what is important to them. Come this morning to see "What You Are Living For?" Worship services begin at 10:45. Pray I see you there!!!!
