The Bravest Battle

"The bravest battle that ever was fought,
Shall I tell you where and when?
On the maps of the world you will find it not.
It is fought by the mothers of men.

"Nay, not with cannon or battle-shot,
With a sword or noble pen,
Nay, not with eloquent words of thought
From the mouths of wonderful men!

"But deep in the walled-up woman's heart,
Of a woman that would not yield,
But bravely, silently bore her part,
Lo, there is that battle-field!

"No marshaling troops, no bivouac song,
No banner to gleam and wave,
But, oh, these battles, they last so long,
From babyhood to the grave.

"Yet, faithful still as a bridge of stars,
She fights in her walled-up town,
Fights on an on in endless wars,
Then, silent, unseen, goes down!

"Oh, ye with banners and battle-shot,
And soldiers to shout and praise!
I tell you the kingliest battles fought,
Were fought in those silent ways.

"O spotless mothers in a world of shame,
With splendid and silent scorn,
Go back to God as pure as you came,
The kingliest warrior born!"

"Therefore"

We might not think much about the word "therefore." But did you know in the KJV Bible, the word "therefore" is used 1,237 time in 1,220 verses? That should catch our attention! The word means, "For this reason, on accout of, as a consequence." Think of a few of the uses of the work "therefore!"

1. The Lord's place; therefore I am glad (Psalm 16:8-9).

2. The Lord's provision; therefore I am thankful (Psalm 18:48-49).

3. The Lord's power; therefore I am conficent (Psalm 46:1-2).

4. The Lord's promise; therefore dI am serving (1 Corinthians 15:51-58).

What If Your Bible Could Talk

"The Top Five Things Every Bible Should Be Able to Say About It's Owner!"

1. My owner knows the Author (John 1:12).
2. My owner believes my teachings (2 Timothy 3:15-16).
3. My owner delights in my instruction (Psalm 119:16).
4. My owner has hidden me in his heart (Psalm 119:11).
5. My owner obeys my teaching because he loves the Lord Jesus (John 14:15).

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away" (Matthew 24:35).

Easter

Good Morning Unity and Community;
Easter, how do you celebrate this day? Many will celebrate it with family and friends. Some will do the traditional thing and hunt Easter eggs. Some will only be concerned about the fun they will have being around certain people. Very little thought will go into the real reason for celebrating Easter. Most will never think about the sufferings that Christ went through for them. Some will not even consider how special a day this is. But for others it will be one of the most joyous days in the life of a Christian. Joyous, because it gives us our hope. Yes, we trust in what Jesus did for us at Calvary. But, without the resurrection, Calvary would be meaningless. Because of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, we have a hope that only a child of God can possess. We have something that gives us strength to carry on in this world, because we know that come either death or the return of Jesus Christ, we have hope of a glorious day when we will all see not only our loved one, but get to see Jesus face to face. Because we have a risen Savior, we can sing to the top of our lungs that the "King is Coming!" Is He coming for you? Do you have hope because of the resurrection? Is Easter really a special day in your life? If not, then prepare to meet your God because THE KING IS COMING AGAIN!!!

The Conqueror

No matter how the storms may rage
Upon the sea of life,
No matter how the waves may beat,
No matter what the strife,
The Lord is just the same today
As when He walked the sea,
And He can conquer every storm
That life may send to thee.

The waves are raging everywhere
And men are sore distressed,
But all they need is found in Him
Who giveth perfect rest;
So cast your care upon the Lord,
Whose strength will never fail;
He calms the waves fro your frail bark,
His power will 'er prevail.
