Christmas Eve In "No Man's Land!"

'Twas Christmas Eve in "no man's land!" The time was
World War I. A most unusual and wondrous thing occurred.
Battle-weary men in one trench began to sing:
"Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright!"
Enemies, in the opposite trench, answered by singing:
"O Little town of Bethlehem,
How still we see thee lie!"
Cannon ceased their booming. The Spirit of Christ became
all-pervasive! Peace reigned 'midst scenes of carnage! For

the time, foes became friends! The incident is prophetic of
the wondrous day when Jesus, "the Prince of Peace," will
return to our war-wrecked sin-sodden world as "Lord of lords
and King of kings!" Then prophecy will become history.
"They shall beat their swords into plow shares, and their
spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword
against nation, neither shall they learn war any more!" (Micah
4:3). The heart-cry of God's children around the world is this:
"Even so, come, Lord Jesus!" (Rev. 22:20)

Two Weeks Till Christmas

Good Morning Unity and Community;
December 14, 2016, two weeks til Christmas. Two weeks until we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. How will you celebrate His birth. Will it be with family and friends? Will it just be another day. I wonder how many atheist, who say there is no God, or those who deny the deity or existence of Jesus Christ, will celebrate Christmas? Yes, this year His celebrated birthday fall on Sunday. There are many who will for go going to church that day because family may be at their house or family will be coming. If we truly love Jesus as we say we do and He means as much to us as we say He does, should we not at least go to His church and celebrate His birthday with Him. How would all of you feel if when it came time to celebrate your birthday, everybody stay home or went somewhere else.
Today at Unity we will look at "The Offering For Hope" in our series "Season Of Hope." Come join us at 10:45 for Worship Services.

Christmas Bells

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

I thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along the unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And in despair I bowed my head;
"There is no place on earth," I said;
 "For hate is strong, and mocks the song
Of peace on earth good-will to men."

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep,
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep!
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men!"

What is the Real Reason for the Season?

Good Morning Unity and Community;
December, the month of Christmas. A time when people buy gifts to give to others whom they love or have a friendship with. Some spend hundreds and even thousands, while other have very little or maybe nothing. Regardless of how much you spend, or the amount of gifts you give, or even to whom you give them, what is the real reason for Christmas? If the only reason we celebrate Christmas is to give and receive gifts, then; we should do away with the name of the season, or at least rename it. Christmas is not about the gifts we receive, but about the gift that was given to all mankind. Without this gift there would be no hope, no joy, no future for mankind. Yes, Jesus is the free gift given to all. Yes, He truly is the reason for the season.
Today at Unity we begin a series entitled "The Season of Hope." This series centers around the events in Luke leading up to and during the birth of Christ. Services begin each Sunday Morning at 10:45, except for Christmas morning, when we will have Worship services at 9:45. Please make plans to attend and get the full meaning Christmas.

A Result of His Sowing

During the Civil War, a man on horseback suddenly found himself confronted with a soldier on sentry guard. The soldier pointed his gun at the other man's breast and said, "Halt! Who goes there?" "A friend,"he replied. "Approach, friend, and give the password." "Lincoln," confidently said the man on horseback. There was a dead silence, for it was the wrong password! At length the soldier said slowly and solemnly, "It is the wrong password. If I did not know who you were, your life would pay the penalty of the mistake. At the risk of my own life, I spare yours. Go back and get the right word."

The man on horseback thanked the soldier warmly and rode away, returning with the right password, "Massachusetts." "Pass on, all's well," Was the immediate reply from the sentry. "I cannot pass," said the rider, "till I have given you a message. At the risk of your life, you spared mine. Have you the right password for heaven? "Yes, sir, I have." "What is it?" "'Jesus Christ', sir." "Where did you learn that?" "In your Sunday School long ago in Pennsylvania, sir."

God has said, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
